I DON’T LIKE CHICKENS – I LOVE THEM
Chickens are brilliant, not only do they provide eggs-sweet-eggs, but they are also endlessly comical and entertaining. Behold their funny way of walking and their wacky way of talking.
Hannah’s Sister-in-law/best mate has chickens, that makes me jealous at best.
When we visited them a few weeks back, it struck me that the humble, traditional chicken – a true British sign of the countryside and classic farming life, would be well suited to the primitive and nostalgic pinhole photograph technique. For some reason, Chickens remind me of small holdings, the simple life, eggs every day for breakfast and rural living in general.
See what you think of the results – personally, I am really pleased with these photos! I think they have a really nice charm about them and an interesting range of colours and focus.
Long live digital pinhole chickens.

I think Digital Chicken Portrait looks like a Boards of Canada record sleeve! Not that they’re into chickens (as far as I know) but their artword often has this hazy, dappled feel. Its reminiscent of Super 8 footage innit.
