LONDON: WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE ON A JAUNT TO SEE LIGHT SHOW @ HAYWARD
All this getting other people to submit images for me to post is making me a lazy blogger and I am neglecting my own images.
So today feels grey and bleak and I feel the urge to inject some sunshine back into proceedings and thought I would share a few images taken in London Town.
LIGHT SHOW AT THE HAYWARD GALLERY, LONDON
A few months back myself and the Good Lady Hannah went to see Light Show at the Hayward Gallery. A fine show, a very fine show indeed. A bit sparse on the number of exhibits perhaps, but it was rather inspiring to see art being created from the ephemeral waves me daub as Light. I would urge you to go and see the show, but it has long since ended. However, I would strongly suggest that everyone goes to see every exhibition ever put on at the Hayward, they are, without exception wonderful. If I could be a gallery…it would be the Hayward!!!
I shall also share with you a video I found of my favourite exhibit in the exhibition, which was ‘Model for a Timeless Garden’ by Olufar Eliasson. For those not aware of his work, he is the chap who filled the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern with the Sun. The film will not fully do it justice, as it was one of those pieces you could happy ensconce yourself in front of for hours and not get bored. BUT, for what it is worth check it out:
There is loads of great stuff about the exhibition including images and films on the exhibitions website, so if you are intrigued you can find more here: www.haywardlightshow.co.uk/
MOMENTS THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
But, we did not come here to talk about light in that sense, we came to look at a few snaps I took whilst strutting round London on one of the rare fabulous days experienced this Spring.
